Michael Mueller (Aarau, SUI) qualified for the 2018 Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 7-5 against Andrin Schnider (St. Gallen, SUI). of the 2018 Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge in Bern, Switzerland;

Mueller finished 4-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mueller defeated Fredrik Nyman (Stockholm, SWE) 5-3, then won 10-4 against Jan Hess (Zug, SUI). Mueller went on to lose 7-0 against Marc Pfister (Adelboden, SUI). Mueller lost 7-5 to Robin Brydone (Perth, SCO) where Mueller responded with a 7-0 win over Dieter Wuest (Luzern, SUI). Mueller won 5-4 against Martin Rios (Glarus, SUI) in their final qualifying round match.

Mueller earned 9.542 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Grand Prix Bern Inter Curling Challenge. Mueller move up 31 spots after posting a net gain of 8.126 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 124th overall with 26.858 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Mueller ranks 106th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 16.950 points earned so far this season.
