Peter De Cruz (Geneve, SUI) finished 5-4 in the 10-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, De Cruz lost 7-6 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE), droppimg another game, 7-6 to Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) where De Cruz responded with a 9-3 win over Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED). De Cruz went on to lose 8-4 against Bruce Mouat (Stirling, SCO). De Cruz responded with a 9-7 win over Wille Makela (Hyvinkaa, FIN). De Cruz won 9-3 against Bartosz Dzikowski (Katowice, POL), then won 10-2 against Mikhail Vaskov (Dmitrov, RUS). De Cruz went on to lose 7-5 against Marc Muskatewitz (Baden Baden, GER). De Cruz responded with a 8-7 win over Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

De Cruz earned 15.978 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 8th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of -11.311 after improving upon their best so far this season. De Cruz ranks 7th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 190.295 points earned so far this season.
