Dow finished 4-0 in the 5-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dow defeated Allen 6-5, then won 4-3 against Dennis Elgie (Metcalfe, ON) and 7-6 against Greg Balsdon (Kingston, ON). Dow won 7-0 against O'Driscoll in their final qualifying round match.
