To advance to the championship game, Kalthoff won 4-3 over Ryan Deis (Fox Valley, SK) in the semifinals of the 2018 Estevan SCT in Estevan, Saskatchewan; and won 4-3 over Mike Armstrong (Regina, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Estevan SCT in Estevan, Saskatchewan;
 
Kalthoff finished 3-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Kalthoff defeated Shane Vollman (Regina, SK) 8-5, then went on to lose 8-4 against Travis Tokarz (Saskatoon, SK). Kalthoff responded with a 9-0 win over Logan Ede (Regina, SK). Kalthoff won 7-2 against Brent Gedak (Estevan, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Estevan SCT Championship title, Kalthoff earned 13.070 world rankings points along with the $1,480CDN first prize cheque. Kalthoff move up 18 spots after posting a net gain of 9.469 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 90th overall with 46.963 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Kalthoff ranks 92nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 28.958 points earned so far this season.
