Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) lost 8-7 to Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) in the Final of the LGT World Women's Curling Championship, held March 16 - 24, 2019 in Silkeborg, Denmark. To advance to the championship game, Hasselborg won 6-3 over Seina Nakajima (Nagano, JPN) in the semifinals of the LGT World Women's Curling Championship in Silkeborg, Denmark;
Hasselborg finished 11-1 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hasselborg lost 9-3 to Jie Mei (Harbin, CHN), then responded with a 8-5 win over Iveta Stasa-Sarsune (Riga, LAT). Hasselborg won 8-5 against Tirinzoni, then won 7-3 against Madeleine Dupont (Hvidovre, DEN) and 8-4 against Min Ji Kim (Chuncheon City, KOR). Hasselborg won 10-2 against Oona Kauste (Aland, FIN), then won 9-4 against Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) and 9-7 against Jamie Sinclair (Chaska, USA). Hasselborg won 8-7 against Sophie Jackson (Stirling, SCO), then won 8-3 against Daniela Jentsch (Fuessen, GER) and 5-3 against Chelsea Carey (Edmonton, CAN). Hasselborg won 9-8 against Nakajima in their final qualifying round match.
With their runner-up finish at the LGT World Women's Curling Championship, Hasselborg take home 61.285 world rankings points, remaining in 2nd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 36.917 after improving upon their best so far this season. Hasselborg ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 451.176 points earned so far this season.
