Lill finished 2-2 in the 13-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lill lost 8-4 to Ulrik Damm (Hvidovre, DEN), then responded with a 8-7 win over Jasiecki. Lill went on to lose 6-3 against Michael Mueller (Aarau, SUI). Lill responded with a 8-6 win over Kriss Vonda (Riga, LAT) in their final qualifying round match.
