Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) lost 4-3 to Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the Meridian Canadian Open, held January 8 - 13, 2019 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. To advance to the championship game, Tirinzoni won 8-4 over Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO) in the semifinals of the 2019 Meridian Canadian Open in North Battleford, Saskatchewan; and won 6-1 over Robyn Silvernagle (North Battleford, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2019 Meridian Canadian Open in North Battleford, Saskatchewan;

Tirinzoni finished 3-2 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tirinzoni lost 8-3 to Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN), then responded with a 6-4 win over Isabella Wrana (Stockholm, SWE). Tirinzoni won 5-4 against Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE). Tirinzoni went on to lose 8-4 against Silvernagle. Tirinzoni responded with a 6-0 win over Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Meridian Canadian Open, Tirinzoni take home 66.361 world rankings points along with the $18,000CDN prize, remaining in 5th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 15.981 after improving upon their best so far this season. Tirinzoni ranks 4th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 357.881 points earned so far this season.
