Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON) won 4-1 over Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the Boost National, held December 11 - 16, 2018 in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland / Labrador. To advance to the championship game, Homan won 6-2 over Jennifer Jones (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2018 Boost National in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland / Labrador; and won 6-4 over Jacqueline Harrison (Toronto, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Boost National in Conception Bay South, Newfoundland / Labrador;
Homan finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Homan defeated Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB) 5-3, then won 6-3 against Harrison. Homan went on to lose 8-5 against Eve Muirhead (Stirling, SCO). Homan responded with a 6-5 win over Einarson in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Boost National Championship title, Homan earned 88.074 world rankings points along with the $30,000CDN first prize cheque. Homan move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 50.845 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 1st overall with 572.136 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Homan ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 423.218 points earned so far this season.
