Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) qualified for the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 10-1 against Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON).

van Dorp finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, van Dorp defeated Colin Koivula (Thunder Bay, NONT) 9-8, then went on to lose 9-6 against Kirk Muyres (Saskatoon, SK). van Dorp responded with a 5-4 win over Tanner Lott (Winnipeg Beach, MB). van Dorp went on to lose 7-4 against Kevin Flewwelling (Strathroy, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

van Dorp earned 18.600 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2. van Dorp move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 11.525 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 27th overall with 146.583 total points on the World Ranking Standings. van Dorp ranks 25th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 82.665 points earned so far this season.
