Kirk Muyres (Saskatoon, SK) won 8-3 over Scott McDonald (Kingston, ON) in the Final of the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2, held November 6 - 11, 2018 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Muyres won 6-5 over Charley Thomas (Toronto, ON) in the semifinals of the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Thunder Bay, Ontario; and won 5-4 over Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 in Thunder Bay, Ontario;
 
Muyres finished 4-0 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Muyres defeated Kevin Flewwelling (Strathroy, ON) 8-3, then won 9-6 against Jaap van Dorp (Zoetermeer, NED) and 6-1 against Colin Koivula (Thunder Bay, NONT). Muyres won 5-2 against Tanner Lott (Winnipeg Beach, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 2 Championship title, Muyres earned 46.500 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 13 of the event schedule, Muyres did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Muyres ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
