Laura Walker (Edmonton, AB) qualified for the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-3 against Rachel Homan (Ottawa, ON).

Walker finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walker defeated Krista McCarville (Thunder Bay, NONT) 8-2, then went on to lose 8-3 against Tracy Fleury (Winnipeg, MB). Walker responded with a 5-4 win over Darcy Robertson (Winnipeg, MB). Walker went on to lose 6-4 against Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
