Glenn Howard (Penetanguishe, ON) run at the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 came to an end in the semifinals with a 5-2 loss to Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB). of the 2018 GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1 in Thunder Bay, Ontario; Howard advanced through the quarterfinals with a 6-4 win over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL).
 
Howard finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Howard defeated Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) 9-2, then went on to lose 5-4 against Bottcher. Howard lost 5-1 to Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) where Howard responded with a 8-2 win over Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Howard earned 44.878 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the GSOC Tour Challenge Tier 1. Howard move up 2 spots after posting a net gain of 40.57 points improving upon their best 5 results so far this season, ranking 11th overall with 312.876 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
