Casey Scheidegger (Lethbridge, AB) won 6-4 over Alina Kovaleva (Saint-Petersburg, RUS) in the Final of the HDF Insurance Shoot-Out, held September 6 - 9, 2018 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Scheidegger won 7-6 over Kelsey Rocque (Edmonton, AB) in the semifinals of the 2018 HDF Insurance Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 8-6 over Chelsea Carey (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 HDF Insurance Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;
Scheidegger finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Scheidegger lost 7-5 to Karynn Flory (Edmonton, AB), then responded with a 7-5 win over Sherry Anderson (Saskatoon, SK). Scheidegger won 7-3 against 's Janais DeJong, then won 7-2 against Allison Flaxey (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the HDF Insurance Shoot-Out Championship title, Scheidegger earned 40.045 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 4 of the event schedule, Scheidegger did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Scheidegger ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
