To advance to the championship game, Mellemseter won 8-3 over Magnus Ramsfjell (Oslo, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2017 Norway Cup 1 in Jar, Norway; and won 8-4 over Olav Kringlebotn (Hedmarken, NOR) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Norway Cup 1 in Jar, Norway;
Mellemseter finished 5-0 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mellemseter defeated Johan Hostmaehlingen (Lillehammer, NOR) 6-4, then won 11-5 against Jorn Nordhagen (Lillehammer, NOR) and 14-2 against Espen De Lange (Jar, NOR).
