Steffen Walstad (Oppdal, NOR) won 9-6 over Thomas Ulsrud (Snaroen, NOR) in the Final of the Norwegian National Championship, held March 23 - 25, 2018 in Lillehammer, Norway. To advance to the championship game, Walstad won 8-2 over Magnus Ramsfjell (Oppdal, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2018 Norwegian National Championship in Lillehammer, Norway; and won 7-3 over Bent Anund Ramsfjell (Jar, NOR) in the quarterfinals. of the 2018 Norwegian National Championship in Lillehammer, Norway;

Walstad finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Walstad defeated Gaute Nepstad (Lillehammer, NOR) 8-2, then won 8-3 against Patrick Kverkild (Trondheim, NOR). Walstad went on to lose 5-4 against Johan Hostmaehlingen (Lillehammer, NOR). Walstad responded with a 6-1 win over Kjetil Skaret (Snaroen, NOR) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Norwegian National Championship Championship title, Walstad earned 28.655 world rankings points. Walstad move up 1 spots after posting a net gain of 26.167 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 17th overall with 376.202 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Walstad ranks 16th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 200.674 points earned so far this season.
