Maroldo lost 5-4 to Fred Maxie (Seattle, WA) where Maroldo responded with a 8-2 win over Bob Leclair (Goodyear, AZ). Maroldo won 8-7 against Mike Sherry (Schaumburg, IL), then won 6-3 against Emily Anderson (Broomall, PA) and 10-3 against Ryan Spielman (Hartland, WI). Maroldo went on to lose 6-3 against Darrick Kizlyk (Colorado Springs, CO) in their final qualifying round match.
