In their opening game, Whittmire defeated Thomas Crawford (Ponoka, AB) 5-2, then won 9-2 against Luc Blanchette (Donnelly, AB). Whittmire went on to lose 6-2 against Nicolas Oake (St. Albert, AB). Whittmire responded with a 5-2 win over Cody Doucet (St. Paul, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
