Hegner went on to lose 8-6 against Victoria Moiseeva (St. Petersburg, RUS). Hegner responded with a 11-2 win over Claire Hamilton (Edinburgh, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Qinghai International Championship title, Hegner earned 17.063 world rankings points along with the $8,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 6 spots the World Ranking Standings into 61st place overall with 95.957 total points.
