Liu went on to lose 9-8 against Greg Drummond (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Qinghai International, Liu take home 15.881 world rankings points along with the $5,000CDN prize. Liu move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 11.114 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 16th overall with 327.162 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Liu ranks 11th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 194.629 points earned so far this season.
