After advancing directly to the championship game, Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT) lost 6-5 to Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, NONT) in the Final of the Travelers Northern Ontario Mens Championship, held February 7 - 11, 2017 in Little Current, Ontario.

Horgan finished 7-0 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Horgan defeated Matt Dumontelle (North Bay, NONT) 7-3, then won 6-2 against Jordan Chandler (Sudbury, NONT) and 9-3 against Charlie Robert (Sault Ste Marie, NONT). Horgan won 8-5 against Colin Koivula (Thunder Bay, NONT), then won 7-3 against Jacobs and 4-2 against Dustin Montpellier (Copper Cliff, NONT). Horgan won 9-4 against Dylan Johnston (Thunder Bay, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Travelers Northern Ontario Mens Championship, Horgan take home 9.983 world rankings points. For week 27 of the event schedule, Horgan did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Horgan ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
