Lank finished 6-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Lank defeated Brenda Mason (Midland, MI) 7-2, then won 11-0 against Carol Ann Naso (Fountain Hills, AZ) and 8-2 against Dawn Findlay (Glenn Dale, MD). Lank went on to lose 8-7 against Smith. Lank responded with a 7-6 win over Norma O'Leary (Silver Bay, MN). Lank won 9-5 against Kimberly Wapola (St. Paul, MN), then won 5-3 against Beth Bohlman (Grand Forks, ND) in their final qualifying round match.
