To advance to the championship game, Wright won 7-5 over Philip DeVore (Superior, WI) in the semifinals of the 2018 USA Senior Mens National Championship in Duluth, Minnesota, United States; and won 4-3 over Paul Pustovar (Hibbing, WI) in the quarterfinals.
 
Wright finished 2-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wright defeated John Kram (Bismarck, ND) 7-1, then won 10-0 against Art Ruohonen (Boise, ID). Wright went on to lose 7-4 against Olson. Wright lost 8-7 to Darrin Holt (Farmington, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week of the event schedule, Wright did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Wright ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
