Alex Robichaud (Fredericton, NB) finished 3-3 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Robichaud defeated Ryan Cain (Fredericton, NB) 7-5, then went on to lose 2-0 against Charlie Sullivan (Saint John, NB). Robichaud responded with a 7-4 win over Christopher McCann (Fredericton Junction, NB). Robichaud went on to lose 8-5 against Wayne Tallon (Fredericton, NB). Robichaud responded with a 6-2 win over Cain. Robichaud went on to lose 5-4 against Tallon in their final qualifying round match.

Robichaud earned 1.995 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
