In their opening game, Ferris lost 5-4 to Rob Retchless (Toronto, ON), then responded with a 5-4 win over Steve Allen (Ottawa, ON). Ferris went on to lose 7-6 against Joe Frans (Oakville, ON). Ferris responded with a 10-1 win over Dale Kelly (Chatham, ON). Ferris went on to lose 7-1 against Codey Maus (London, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Ferris earned 1.400 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 104th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 58.709 total points. Ferris ranks 90th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 38.579 points earned so far this season.
