After advancing directly to the championship game, Jon Solberg (Whitehorse, YK) lost 8-5 to Thomas Scoffin (Whitehorse, YK) in the Final of the Yukon Mens Championship, held January 11 - 14, 2018 at the Whitehorse Curling Club in Whitehorse, Canada.

Solberg finished 4-2 in the 6-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Solberg defeated Tyler Williams (Whitehorse, YK) 9-2, then went on to lose 9-4 against Bob Smallwood (Whitehorse, YK). Solberg responded with a 6-5 win over Scoffin. Solberg won 8-6 against Smallwood, then won 5-2 against Williams. Solberg went on to lose 8-1 against Scoffin in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Yukon Mens Championship, Solberg take home 2.888 world rankings points. For week 23 of the event schedule, Solberg did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Solberg ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
