Nicholas Connolly (Seattle, USA) won 8-6 over Ryan Hahn (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the U21 Crystal Slam, held October 20 - 22, 2017 at the Rideau Curling Club in Ottawa, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Connolly won 4-2 over Sam Steep (Seaforth, ON) in the semifinals
 
Connolly finished 4-1 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Connolly defeated Gavin Lydiate (Hawkesbury, ON) 5-4, then won 5-3 against Jordan McNamara (Ottawa, ON). Connolly went on to lose 7-5 against Hahn. Connolly responded with a 6-5 win over Andrew Kelly (Ottawa, ON). Connolly won 7-4 against Steep in their final qualifying round match.
