In their opening game, Silver lost 11-3 to Tanner Horgan (Sudbury, NONT), then responded with a 5-4 win over Nicholas Lemieux (Sault Ste Marie, NONT). Silver won 8-1 against Jason Bazylewski (Fort Frances, NONT), then won 9-2 against Mark Robinson (Sudbury, NONT) in their final qualifying round match.
