Kerri Einarson (Winnipeg, MB) lost 5-4 to Shannon Birchard (Winnipeg, MB) in the Final of the MCT Championships, held December 8 - 10, 2017 at the East St. Paul Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Einarson won 8-2 over Rhonda Varnes (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals   of the 2017 MCT Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 5-3 over Beth Peterson (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2017 MCT Championships in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; 
 
Einarson finished 3-1 in the 11-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Einarson lost 5-4 to Varnes, then responded with a 7-2 win over Jennifer Clark-Rouire (Winnipeg, MB). Einarson won 6-0 against Alyssa Calvert (Carberry, MB), then won 6-2 against Birchard in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the MCT Championships, Einarson take home 20.152 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN prize. Einarson gained 16.69 points improving upon their best events, though dropped 1 spots on the World Ranking Standings into 11thplace overall with 398.247 total points. Einarson ranks 6th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 232.545 points earned so far this season.
