Simmons finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Simmons defeated William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) 5-0, then went on to lose 5-0 against Joey Witherspoon (Winnipeg, MB). Simmons responded with a 5-1 win over Sean Grassie (Winnipeg, MB). Simmons won 5-4 against Tanner Lott (Winnipeg Beach, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
