Smallwood went on to lose 5-4 against Charlie Sullivan (Saint John, NB). Smallwood lost 6-3 to Tom Buchy (Kimberley, BC). Smallwood lost 5-4 to Charlie Robert (Sault Ste.Marie, NONT). Smallwood lost 7-5 to Dean Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) where Smallwood responded with a 9-0 win over Ed MacDonald (Iqaluit, NU). Smallwood went on to lose 5-4 against Bruce Korte (Prince Albert, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
