To advance to the championship game, Deis won 6-0 over Kelly Marnoch (Carberry, MB) in the semifinals of the 2017 Regina Highland Cashspiel in Regina, Saskatchewan; and won 7-5 over Mike Armstrong (Regina, SK) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Regina Highland Cashspiel in Regina, Saskatchewan;
 
Deis finished 2-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Deis defeated Trevor Funk (Medicine Hat, AB) 7-5, then won 6-1 against Jason Jacobson (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Regina Highland Cashspiel Championship title, Deis earned 15.593 world rankings points along with the $2,600CDN first prize cheque, moving up 42 spots the World Ranking Standings into 114th place overall with 37.403 total points. Deis ranks 105th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 16.201 points earned so far this season.
