Dave Collyer (Belleville, ON) won 8-3 over Tyler Jones (Lindsay, ON) in the Final of the West City Honda Mens Curling Classic, held November 3 - 5, 2017 at the Trenton Curling Club in Trenton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Collyer won 4-3 over Billy Woods (Dows Lake, ON) in the semifinals
Collyer finished 2-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Collyer defeated Greg Park (Oshawa, ON) 7-6, then went on to lose 7-6 against Woods. Collyer responded with a 5-4 win over Jerry Whyte (Trenton, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the West City Honda Mens Curling Classic Championship title, Collyer earned 9.018 world rankings points along with the $1,100CDN first prize cheque, moving up 39 spots the World Ranking Standings into 145th place overall with 24.678 total points. Collyer ranks 130th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.018 points earned so far this season.
