Deruelle finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Deruelle defeated Rob Ainsley (Toronto, ON) 4-3, then won 6-5 against Brent Ross (Harriston, ON). Deruelle went on to lose 7-5 against Tuck Jr.. Deruelle responded with a 6-4 win over Daryl Shane (Listowel, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
