Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB) won 7-2 over Carter Watkins (Swan River, MB) in the Final of the Larry Jones Junior Classic, held September 21 - 24, 2017 at the St. Vital Curling Club in Winnipeg, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Wiebe won 5-1 over Jack Hykaway (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2017 Larry Jones Junior Classic in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; and won 8-3 over Jayden Rutter (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Wiebe finished 4-0 in the 21-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Wiebe defeated Reese Braden (Winnipeg, MB) 7-3, then won 3-1 against Watkins and 6-3 against Sam West (Brandon, MB). Wiebe won 8-0 against Riley Fenson (Bemidji, MN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
. For week 7 of the event schedule, Wiebe did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Wiebe ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
