Megan Smith (Sudbury, NONT) finished 5-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith defeated Samantha Crook (Fredericton, NB) 7-4, then went on to lose 5-3 against Sarah Daniels (Delta, BC). Smith responded with a 9-2 win over Kayla Gray (Perth, ON). Smith won 7-1 against Laurie St-Georges (Laval, QC), then won 5-2 against Marie-Elaine Little (Ottawa, ON) and 4-2 against Kaitlyn Jones (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
