Zi-Qi Dong (Harbin, CHN) lost 7-6 to Selena Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the Balmoral Harvest Junior Womens Classic, held September 22 - 24, 2017 at the Saville Community Sports Centre in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Dong won 11-2 over Ashton Simard (Calgary, AB) in the semifinals of the 2017 Balmoral Harvest Junior Womens Classic in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 6-5 over Abby Marks (Edmonton, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
Dong finished 3-0 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dong defeated Ryleigh Bakker (Calgary, AB) 9-3, then won 6-2 against Allyson Hamilton (Taber, AB) and 6-3 against Chaelynn Kitz (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
