Carey/Hodgson finished 4-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Carey/Hodgson lost 7-6 to Sherry Just/Ryan Deis (Saskatoon, SK), then responded with a 9-4 win over Nancy Martin/Catlin Schneider (Saskatoon, SK).
