Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) won 10-3 over Chiaki Matsumura (Karuizawa, JPN) in the Final of the Karuizawa International, held December 14 - 17, 2017 in Karuizawa, Japan. To advance to the championship game, Fujisawa won 6-5 over Silvana Tirinzoni (Aarau, SUI) in the semifinals of the 2017 Karuizawa International in Karuizawa, Japan; and won 6-5 over Anna Hasselborg (Sundbyberg, SWE) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Karuizawa International in Karuizawa, Japan;

Fujisawa finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Fujisawa lost 6-4 to Anna Sidorova (Moscow, RUS), then responded with a 5-3 win over Mone Ryokawa (Karuizawa, JPN). Fujisawa won 7-2 against Sue Yoen Kang (Seoul, KOR). Fujisawa went on to lose 7-2 against Hasselborg in their final qualifying round match.

Fujisawa move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 40.013 points improving upon their best results so far this season, ranking 23rd overall with 298.299 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
