Sarah Mallais (Saint John, NB) qualified for the 2017 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-2 against Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS).

Mallais finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Mallais defeated Nancy McConnery (Windsor, NS) 8-7, then went on to lose 6-4 against Mary Mattatall (Halifax, NS). Mallais lost 8-3 to Robyn MacPhee (Charlottetown, PEI) where Mallais responded with a 6-5 win over Heather Munn (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

Mallais earned 9.068 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel, moving up 35 spots the World Ranking Standings into 132nd place overall with 16.057 total points. Mallais ranks 99th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 9.068 points earned so far this season.
