To advance to the championship game, Smith won 6-3 over Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2017 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel in Moncton, New Brunswick; and won 7-6 over Robyn MacPhee (Charlottetown, PEI) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel in Moncton, New Brunswick;
 
Smith finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Smith lost 7-4 to Jill Brothers (Halifax, NS), then responded with a 7-2 win over Justine Comeau (Moncton, NB). Smith went on to lose 5-4 against Jennifer Armstrong (Fredericton, NB). Smith responded with a 6-3 win over Colleen Pinkney (Halifax, NS) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel, Smith take home 16.624 world rankings points along with the $1,200CDN prize, moving up 36 spots the World Ranking Standings into 101st place overall with 29.716 total points.
