Theresa Breen (Halifax, NS) won 8-1 over Veronica Smith (Charlottetown, PEI) in the Final of the Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel, held October 20 - 22, 2017 in Moncton, New Brunswick. To advance to the championship game, Breen won 6-2 over Jill Brothers (Halifax, NS) in the semifinals of the 2017 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel in Moncton, New Brunswick; and won 6-3 over Mary Mattatall (Halifax, NS) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel in Moncton, New Brunswick;

Breen finished 3-1 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Breen defeated Sylvie Robichaud (Moncton, NB) 6-5, then went on to lose 6-2 against Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS). Breen responded with a 6-4 win over Julie McEvoy (Halifax, NS). Breen won 8-3 against Shannon Tatlock (Moncton, NB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Lady Monctonian Invitational Spiel Championship title, Breen earned 21.158 world rankings points along with the $1,900CDN first prize cheque, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 53rd place overall with 83.512 total points. Breen ranks 63rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 21.525 points earned so far this season.
