Symonds finished 6-2 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Symonds defeated Colin Thomas (St. John's, NL) 8-6, then won 7-2 against Justin Lockyer (St. John's, NL) and 10-9 against Paul Harvey (St. John's, NL). Symonds went on to lose 8-6 against Smith. Symonds responded with a 7-4 win over Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL). Symonds went on to lose 7-5 against Boland. Symonds responded with a 5-3 win over Frank O'Driscoll (St. John's, NL). Symonds won 7-5 against Dave Thomas (Port aux Basques, NL) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard, Symonds take home 3.713 world rankings points, moving up 311 spots the World Ranking Standings into 402nd place overall with 3.713 total points. Symonds ranks 309th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 3.713 points earned so far this season.
