Boland won 10-2 against Dave Thomas (Port aux Basques, NL). Boland went on to lose 8-7 against Paul Harvey (St. John's, NL). Boland responded with a 7-5 win over Symonds. Boland went on to lose 9-8 against Greg Smith (St. John's, NL). Boland responded with a 6-4 win over Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.

Boland earned 2.869 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard.
