Jean-Sebastien Roy (Chicoutimi, QC) won 6-3 over Chris Gardner (Buckingham, QC) in the Final of the NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel, held September 28 - October 1, 2017 in Ottawa, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Roy won 6-2 over Billy Woods (Belleville, ON) in the semifinals of the 2017 NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel in Ottawa, Ontario; and won 6-2 over John Steski (Ottawa, ON) in the quarterfinals.
 
Roy finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Roy defeated Dave Stanley (Russell, ON) 7-6, then won 9-2 against Barb Willemsen (Ottawa, ON) and 5-2 against Woods in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel Championship title, Roy earned 14.279 world rankings points along with the $1,500CDN first prize cheque, moving up 4 spots the World Ranking Standings into 59th place overall with 75.88 total points. Roy ranks 36th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 28.750 points earned so far this season.
