Chadd Vandermade (Ottawa, ON) qualified for the 2017 NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 5-4 against Chris Gardner (Buckingham, QC). of the 2017 NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel in Ottawa, Ontario;

Vandermade finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Vandermade defeated John Steski (Ottawa, ON) 8-4, then won 8-4 against Seb Soucy (Ottawa, ON). Vandermade went on to lose 8-5 against Dawn Butler (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Vandermade earned 6.119 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel, moving up 58 spots the World Ranking Standings into 184th place overall with 12.908 total points. Vandermade ranks 86th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 6.510 points earned so far this season.
