John Steski (Ottawa, ON) qualified for the 2017 NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-2 against Jean-Sebastien Roy (Chicoutimi, QC).

Steski finished 2-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Steski lost 8-4 to Chadd Vandermade (Ottawa, ON), then responded with a 6-4 win over Dawn Butler (Ottawa, ON). Steski won 6-5 against Seb Soucy (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Steski earned 6.119 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the NAVY Fall Classic Open Bonspiel, moving up 9 spots the World Ranking Standings into 78th place overall with 42.994 total points. Steski ranks 67th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 10.791 points earned so far this season.
