Balderston finished 4-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Balderston defeated Graham Powell (Grande Prairie, AB) 5-3, then won 6-4 against Cross and 8-6 against Steinke. Balderston won 6-2 against Scott Webb (Peace River, AB) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Dawson Creek Cash Spiel - Competitive Championship title, Balderston earned 12.380 world rankings points along with the $2,500CDN first prize cheque. For week 18 of the event schedule, Balderston did not improve upon their best events, dropping from 472nd to 475th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 0.763 total points.
