Steinke finished 3-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Steinke defeated Colin Griffith (Grande Prairie, AB) 6-4, then won 5-0 against Ryan Norman (Dawson Creek, BC). Steinke went on to lose 8-6 against Balderston. Steinke responded with a 8-3 win over Powell in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Dawson Creek Cash Spiel - Competitive, Steinke take home 9.727 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN prize, moving up 31 spots the World Ranking Standings into 143rd place overall with 30.879 total points.
