Steve Allen (Ottawa, ON) won 6-4 over Howard Rajala (Ottawa, ON) in the Final of the The Burnt Rock Curling Co. Carp Classic, held November 18 - 19, 2017 in Carp, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Allen won 8-2 over Mark Homan (Baie d'Urfe, QC) in the semifinals of the 2017 The Burnt Rock Curling Co. Carp Classic in Carp, Ontario; and won 10-1 over Brian Lewis (Ottawa, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 The Burnt Rock Curling Co. Carp Classic in Carp, Ontario;

Allen finished 3-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Allen defeated Stephen Watson (Ottawa, ON) 7-0, then won 7-5 against Ted Butler (Buckingham, QC) and 7-0 against Damian Pilie (Montreal, QC) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the The Burnt Rock Curling Co. Carp Classic Championship title, Allen earned 12.440 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 13 spots the World Ranking Standings into 83rd place overall with 60.184 total points. Allen ranks 55th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 44.924 points earned so far this season.
