Sierra Sutherland (Manotick, ON) won 7-0 over Guy Charette (Buckingham, QC) in the Final of the Moosehead Fall Open, held September 21 - 24, 2017 in Ottawa, Ontario. To advance to the championship game, Sutherland won 7-4 over Steve Holdaway (Montreal, QC) in the semifinals of the 2017 Moosehead Fall Open in Ottawa, Ontario; and won 6-5 over John Steski (Ottawa, ON) in the quarterfinals. of the 2017 Moosehead Fall Open in Ottawa, Ontario;

Sutherland finished 2-1 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sutherland defeated Rhys Allen (Manotick, ON) 13-2, then won 8-5 against Philip Stang (Ottawa, ON). Sutherland went on to lose 6-1 against Steski in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Moosehead Fall Open Championship title, Sutherland earned 9.129 world rankings points along with the $1,600CDN first prize cheque. For week 7 of the event schedule, Sutherland did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Sutherland ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
